The FacilityBrunswick Executive Airport Hangar #4 (approx. 41,000 sq. ft.) & #5 (approx. 162,000 sq. ft.) The customer sought to improve heating conditions in two large aircraft hangars with high mounting heights. A key design consideration was minimizing roof penetrations, which led to the selection of the HLV Series infrared heating system—an engineered, multi-burner, negative pressure system ideal for large-volume spaces. The Heating Challenge Both hangars required a reliable and efficient heating solution capable of delivering consistent comfort across expansive areas, particularly near large hangar doors where heat loss is most common. Hangar #4 presented an added challenge due to its curved roof structure, which required the heating system to follow the contour of the ceiling without compromising performance. Results A total of 62 HLV burners and 11 vacuum exhausters were installed across the two hangars. The system’s design allowed for tailored heat placement, improving working conditions and operational efficiency. The curved roof of Hangar #4 was effectively addressed by the adaptability of the vacuum system, demonstrating its suitability for complex hangar environments.
