Spanning 1.45 miles along the LowerWest Side of Manhattan, the High Linewas originally constructed in the 1930s’as part of the New York Central Railroad.The three story railroad has now beenrepurposed as a public open spacethat attracts nearly five million visitorsannually. The park s’ innovative designconverted an industrial trestle of steeland concrete into a green roof that twistsand turns its way through the city. The transformation of the park only allowedfor a few feet of soil above the concreteand waterproofing layer installed overthe existing deck.Platipus Tree Anchoring Systems,including concrete deadman sleepersand engineered soil, were used tostabilize the trees over the green roof.
