Kafka Granite, LLC is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1979 by Glenn Kafka. With hard work, perseverance, innovation and a strong entrepreneurial spirit, Kafka Granite has grown from their origin as a supplier of decomposed granite road material into one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of specialty aggregates and crushed stone in the United States. Their architectural aggregates, decomposed granite, boulders, and recycled products are used for many applications including, but not limited to, landscaping stone, architectural precast concrete, terrazzo flooring, epoxy resin tile, pathway and ballyard materials, and non-skid surfacing.

After a massive expansion of the Akron Art Museum in downtown Akron, Ohio in 2017, an adjacent surface parking lot was slated for transformation into a green area for visitors and artists alike. The Bud and Susie Rogers Garden consists of a series of terraced spaces with gentle ramps, open plazas, and wooded bosques, creating a naturally contemplative area in the midst of its urban surroundings. Kafka Granite supplied Salt & Pepper Granite Stabilized Pathway Mix for several striking areas of the garden, producing a stable yet soft and pleasingly textural experience.Kafka’s Stabilized Pathway Mix creates a firm, durable surface that is ADA compliant, while retaining water permeability and a natural look and feel.
